I had to be creative and change up my project due to the impossibility of my original script submission. I stayed within the same genre with labels and social topics. I decided to have a friend get intimate and read a script/poem I wrote about stereotypes about black people, black LGBTQ+ people specifically. It's raw and meaningful and I hope people feel the tone in her voice. I have also attached the new script on the online portal.

How do you see me?

Am I a thug to you? Are you scared of me? Do you think I am uneducated?

Do you assume I'm poor? Do you hate my tattoos? Do you hate the way I talk? Are you uncomfortable with the way I dress? Would you move to the other side of the street if you saw me walking towards you? If you saw me in a Benz would you assume I stole it?

How do you see me? When you see me in a store, do you think I'm shoplifting? Would you trust me with your kids? Would you refuse medical attention if I was your nurse? Do you say the N word when I'm not around? If I was light skinned, would you be less afraid? Why are you afraid?Don't you think we're scared of you too? Why is Melanin so threatening to you? You always assume I am up to no good

Would it surprise you to know I'm on the honor roll? That I have a steady job? That I have goals and dreams and passions? I am not a statistic nor will I fall under your stereotype of what you believe me to be.How about you let me decide?
