I was hired to edit a short film that was supposed to be in the style of David Lynch. It was to contain long takes with few edits to help drag out the anxiety of the viewer without giving much away to the viewer as to where the story was going. This was my initial take (the Editor's Cut) based on the input by the Director and the script. It is not the complete film, only the first Act.

The director had an Audio Mixer and Finisher lined up so my job was strictly focused on "cutting". Some Audio editing and sound design was created by me for the purposes of "temping" and balancing the audio track. Aldo, some minor color correction and balance was performed as the RAW footage was not matching.

The blank GPS screens and those with text were "stand-ins"and were going to be created by me as well. I did create early animated motion graphic concepts which were ultimately rejected in favor of going minimalist (2001 HAL) design approach. All would be complete during post-production.

While the director liked the feel and direction I was going initially, he chose to make a multitude of considerable re-edits that culminated in many versions that I felt were getting away from his own vision that he expressed to me in the beginning.

I was a t a point where I lost interest in the project and it was showing. So we agreed that we part ways.
