NAPA-2 (2021-059CN) is a 6U cubesat built by ISISpace in Delft, the Netherlands. It features a bright LED beacon, as an experimental tracking aid.
On 25 and 27 Aug 2021 in cooperation with ISISpace I made the first positive detections of this LED beacon. This movie is from Aug 27 when the beacon was lit in a 3-second-on/1-second-off mode. The video captures the moment it switches off near the center of the FOV. The beacon reaches about mag +10.2. NAPA-2 was in earth shadow when I filmed this.
