‘Cut-Off’ is a film that explores the different voices within oneself: a positive voice, the ‘bright’ side within our minds, contradicted by an inner darkness, which then represents our insecurities. A contrast between dark and bright, almost in a ‘yin and yang’-like nature. It also features elements such as reflections (by filming through a mirror) and a motivated lighting change, which intend to add layers of how the word bright can be incorporated into a film. A story that aims to normalise the topic of male mental health by illustrating the struggles of a socially anxious mind.
