I've just completed the edit for LickLibrary's 'Classic Albums Master Of Puppets' which is one of my all time favourite albums. I loved it when I first bought it aged 14 and I still love it now.
I thought I'd recreate the cover in 3D by first calibrating the camera. Putting in all the vanishing points allows the software (Cinema 4D) to extrapolate where the camera's vantage point would be which matches the perspective perfectly. I then built and textured all the elements. Rigged and animated the hands with bones and 'Pose Morphs' and finally added Dynamics to the strings, grass and dog tag. A bit of grain and compositing in After Effects and job's a goodun.
