Jacob (Scott Monahan) and John (Dakota Loesch) are two low-level Florida drug hustlers with a dream. Driving a busted Crown Victoria full of opioids towards Anchorage, Alaska, their plan is to cash-in big in the Land of Gold. That plan gets challenged by their surroundings, their shortcomings, and their tendency to dip into their own supply. A split-second act of violence somewhere in the California desert derails their trip and sets them on a crash course with tragedy.
The opioid epidemic has affected millions of Americans but is largely undiscussed in mainstream media. The filmmakers behind ANCHORAGE, their family and friends, have had first hand experience with this crisis. This film is their way of addressing the issue and starting a long overdue conversation.
