Edit: A lot of people I sent this to are asking me what 4c hair is.

What is 4c hair? Well 4c hair is a curl pattern. It is the tightest curls can get. The hair is densely packed. This type of hair experiences less definition and more shrinkage. It’s also conventionally seen as unprofessional, unkept, and unrepresented in media and in life really.

I wanted to see what the natural hair being represented looked like in one solid video, because, well, there really aren’t many films or television representing it.....
(Outside of Blaxploitation, Natural Hair Empowerment films, and slave/period pieces)

Usually natural hair in film and television portray 4c hair chemically or physically straightened OR they just find an actress with looser curls (3a-4a)

But this video is honoring and observing how 4c is portrayed in film and television.

And I hope this cleared things up.
