We built this work for stage and in proximity to one another and our audience, but find ourselves now together, apart. Here we are, FLOE-ing from our shelter-in-place positions.
Vanishing polar ice, rising sea levels, extreme weather, denialism, madness. "Floe" is dance theater about climate change. By turns irreverent and elegiac, "Floe" embodies the fragmentation of our global conversation on climate change as it veers from conspiracy theories to the very real and urgent impacts of global warming. The world of "Floe" is an iceberg calving, leaving individuals stranded on their own floe, at sea and at risk of melting altogether.
