About:

The wolf in sheep’s clothing is a cultural idiom used to describe those playing a role contrary to their real character. It has since been used by zoologists to describe certain kinds of predatory behaviour. Through disguise and distortion, we wanted to mediate a space that would allow us to become strange spectral beasts: ethereal, dream-like, vulnerable, but also freakish, cheeky, and unsettling. We wanted to exaggerate and at the same time complicate the false dichotomy of human-animal; cultured-wild; controlled-chaotic. Existing and performing in this space was a way to try to understand the bonds between our bodies, our memories, and the local ecology.

When we were making this piece, we were considering themes of perception/deceit, processing loss, and finding solace in shared experience. The ultimate goal was to unmask something through masquerade. Given the improvised nature of the piece, the results remain unpredictable.
