I went with my initial plan; a 2d ship to a 3d one and overlooking a city. I also initially planned for the ship to fly directly into the depths of the city and race through the streets and building tops. However, because of lack of knowledge on speed and the degree of how much details should be emphasized, I went for the "Studio Ghilbi" idea of the city swallowing the ship up instead, and popping out of the colours to become a triangle. Before starting, I did a variety of ship studies and sketches to design the ship in the animation. I additionally tried out the techniques from the book, "An Animator's Survival Kit" like the turn of the 3D ship and the speed of the city colours.
I feel like something I could have worked on, was the stability and look of the city. What kind of city could I had aimed for? How could it had used details and animation to create a believable city flying above the ship? The ending was also lackluster because it provided no context to why the ship (or the black speeding dot) becomes a triangle.
