The challenges associated with confronting and eliminating structural racism are extensive and require intentional, hard work within the public health, social, economic, philanthropy and healthcare systems. This requires both institutions and individuals to engage in uncomfortable conversations to reflect on and correct the patterns, processes and systems that have harmed and continue to harm the communities they intend to serve. The newly launched CIE Data Equity Framework is an innovative tool that can be used to guide institutions and individuals towards creating more equitable and inclusive systems that support overall well-being and positive health outcomes for their communities.
During Part One: Data Equity Framework: Designing Equitable and Inclusive Systems (originally broadcast on November 17th, 2021), experts reviewed the CIE Data Equity Framework, highlighting the design and key drivers that can move institutions towards building anti-racist systems that empower communities. Attendees learned how this framework can be used to design data-sharing systems centered around the most impacted populations, such as CIEs
