The indri is the largest living species of lemur found in the few remaining forests on Madagascar's eastern slope. They fill their home forests with long-ranging haunting songs and are a valuable asset for ecotourism which is largely untapped. They are under threat from loss of habitat. Only a small portions of Madagascar's original rain forest remains. Eyes of the World Films (eyesoftheworldfilms.com/) was happy to produce this video for Lemur Conservation Network (lemurconservationnetwork.org/). LCN unites over 50 conservation organizations working to protect over 100 species of lemurs across their island home in Madagascar. They aim to implement the crucial lemur survival action plan, protect lemur habitat, and save lemurs from extinction. Their members work closely with local communities in Madagascar, and strongly believe that in order to help lemurs, they must support the Malagasy people.
