Iran: Mullahs’ Criminal Seminary Targeted in Kouhdasht Simultaneous with the Election Farce
On Thursday on the eve of the farce parliamentary election of the Iranian regime, the mullahs’ criminal seminary in Khoudasht, near Tehran, was targeted by defiant youth.
This seminary and the mullahs working there played an important role in the suppression of the people of the city, especially during the November 2019 uprising.
Simultaneously, defiant youth torched images of the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and the eliminated terror master Qassem Soleimani in different parts of Tehran, and in the cities of Karaj, Neyshabour, Najaf-Abad, Bidokht and Parandak.
Residents of Gilan Protest the Iranian Regime’s Lack of Response to Snowstorm Disaster
Protests erupted in different cities of Gilan province, northern Iran, after the government failed to prevent and respond to snowstorm that have caused a crisis across the province. At least eight people were killed, and hundreds injured after a wave of cold weather and heavy snow hit the province. Five people died in an avalanche and two more were buried in snow. Several people have been reported missing.
More than 200,000 people are suffering from electricity outage and several major roads and highways have been blocked by the heavy snowfall. Telephone lines have also been cut off and water pipes have frozen. The people of the area are faced with a serious shortage of potable water. Yet regime authorities have not taken any action.
Iran: Female Political Prisoner Remains in Limbo Despite Passage of a Month
Despite passage of one month after her apprehension, political prisoner Mary Mohammadi remains in limbo in Qarchak Prison of Varamin.
Mary Mohammadi was arrested on January 12, in the protests against the downing of a Ukrainian passenger airliner by the IRGC anti-aircraft missiles. Protesters expressing sympathy with the families of the victims were badly brutalized by security forces in and around Tehran’s Azadi Square.
Ms. Mohammadi was initially held in Tehran’s Vozara Detention Center. After her interrogations started, she was taken to the detention center’s yard and forced to sit down on the ground in front of the toilets in the freezing cold weather. Then, three agents started interrogating her. They gave her papers containing 30 questions she had to answer, but she said she would not do so in the absence of her lawyer. For 24 hours after her arrest, they did not give any food to Ms. Mohammadi.
