We've heard the excuse before.
"I only want to eat half, I couldn't finish an entire banana,"
etc, etc.
This is fine, but what about the select few that return the half-eaten banana to the bowl?
This is actually based on my mom's tendency to eat half a banana and place it back in the bowl with the other fresh fruit. What she doesn't know is that ripening fruit releases ethylene gas, and taking a bite will cause ethylene to be produced very fast, speeding up the rotting process for surrounding fruit in a bowl.
i.e. One bad banana spoils the bunch.
