Firefox OS "Haida" was a vision for the second generation of Mozilla's mobile operating system, created by a small team of Moz designers and engineers in 2013. We sought to define a "Truly Web" mobile experience, built on the unique strengths of the web platform and the web community. This animation captures the Universal Search feature. Universal Search pushed search and URL entry to the forefront of the Firefox OS experience by making them accessible from anywhere in the OS via a bar at the top of the screen. It was also a critical enabler of a new harmonized content model that presented "web sites" and "web apps" as equals, melted together with as little distinction as possible. The video was produced for Mobile World Congress 2014, and built in After Effects from Photoshop comps.
