Dancer’s Temple is created with the intention of inviting the viewer to enter, interact and become immersed within the work. This work-in-progress is looking at qualities of physical and emotional movement, sensorial responses of dancers and viewers, affective experience, embodiment, ephemerality and abstraction. Influenced by long term research interests and experience of Latin dance, particularly 'The Embrace' in Argentinian Tango - 'the sacred moment where two worlds meet' in relation to the connection made between a viewer and an affective artwork. Working with original footage of dancers in Temple, London, projected on lightweight polyurethane sheets, this piece is part of an ongoing process of experimenting with projection, light, surfaces, site-specificity and sound.
