APP DESCRIPTION:

Download this app named MyCA - Easy Self-Signed SSL.

MyCA is a very simple tool written in PHP that uses the phpseclib library to create certificate authorities (CAs) and sign SSL certificates with them.

This tool was written primarily for myself because I wanted:

1. A free, web-based tool to create and manage my testing and development SSL certificates.

2. A tool that would not take me more than 60 seconds to log in, generate, and download a new certificate.

3. A single password to log into the UI and manage multiple CAs.

4. No dependencies on the PHP OpenSSL extension, no database dependencies, nor other less-commonly-available extensions.

5. Something that could be somewhat secure, easily portable, and easily shared with other developers.

Features

  • Password-protected, easy-to-use user interface
  • Support for multiple Certificate Authorities
  • Fast, small, and no special setup steps required - just unzip into a web-accessible folder, browse to the docroot/index.php page in your browser, and login with whatever password you want your master password to be.
  • All data is stored in a folder below the "docroot" folder, so increased security can be obtained simply by making only the "docroot" folder web-accessible.
  • Uses phpseclib and filesystem-based config files, so no OpenSSL extension, databases, or other special extensions are required!
  • Portable code
