"The ground seems to tremble, and I stand on this
world vividly immovable and spiritually erect".

On February 18 & 19, and for only two performances, Androniki Marathaki along with a team of creators/collaborators, is sharing with the audience, the first part of her new thematic; an ironic and self-referential solo, for a dance creator, on a "pulsating ground".

The thematic, entitled It's not about if you will love me tomorrow, is inspired by the Japanese concept of space Ma (negative/empty space) and the skyline, the line dividing the earth and the firmament; a straight line that "exists" only because of the observer's position.

In this regard, the creator is also being explored: the way the creator is placed in systems of cognition and perception, systems that have shaped the human relation in terms of action, to an "imbalance" which only through mobility and rhythm can eventually come to "balance".

The exploration focuses on the empty space between two "points" ―where point means place, time, Speech, human― and examines the shortest path between them, as well as the intervening that gives whatever form eventually to anything.

The performance, by projecting the necessity as the only source of form, experiments with the need of the state of dance within the cycle of order and disorder, and its attempt to place itself on a stage that the viewer observes by looking at it from the shortest pathways, just the way the spectator observes the horizon.

About Androniki Marathaki:
Androniki Marathaki was born in 1981. After studying Conservation of Arts and Antiquities, she studied dance professionally. She received the scholarship from I.K.Y. (State Scholaships Foundation, Greece) and thus she continued her studies abroad in an MA level.

Her practice as research focuses on what she names “modulated choreographies”, on structures of composing and on choreographing flows of movement. The effort is always not to kill dance on stage. Inevitable. Till now in her performances, she comments on the elements that compose a performance and evaluates “trivial” as a very creative field.

She presented Biograms (2009), Οmfalia (2011), Sunday (2015) and the fourfold performances under the thematic Love & Revolution that includes: Anomaly of the least (I.F. Kostopoulou Foundation, 2016), Pros-euxes/Praires (2017), A masturdating (Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports, 2018) and Hi Jack.Hijack! Besides her artistic identity she works as a dance/performance educational and since 2014 is part of the educational programme Dancing to Connect (Onassis Cultural Centre-Athens).

Lastly she organizes/guides improvisational performances with dancers and non dancers such as: Lifejackets (2016), and long durational performances such as Lela (2015), Leak (2011) and works with theater directors Konstantinos Ntellas (Athens-2016, Epidavros-2018) and Anna Kokkinou (2018).
