Are there any other cars as iconic as Nissan's legendary 180SX? The S13 has become a staple in the car community regardless of what your end goal is. Our latest 1992 comes in with a nice mix of stock and aftermarket goodies to make things a bit more exciting. Starting off with the full Origin Labo style aero it gives the car a much lower and more aggressive look that the factory was originally hinting towards. In keeping with that vibe, the rather tame factory spoiler was replaced with the far more notable Type-X styled one. The end result is fantastic, especially considering that Super Black (KH3) will never go out of style. The paint itself looks great, free of any noteworthy blemishes, which means it's safe to say it was resprayed at some point in time. It would generally be safe to say when all the aero was added they redid the whole car so it would match up properly. The body has also been kept up with rather well which is always a good sign when you're talking about a 28-year-old car. With everything else that's been done naturally the wheels needed a refresh as well. 17" Loop Devize three-piece mesh wheels well exceed the wheels that originally left the factory. Wrapped in new rubber they top of the aggressive tone and really look right at home.

The interior has had a bit of a similar treatment. Several items have been upgraded without taking away from the day to day comfort and conveniences. The driver's seat has been replaced for a later model 180SX seat which offers a bit more support than the original one did. Both driver and passenger seats have been spared from the typical bolster wear and were kept largely stain and tear-free. Most of the upgrades come right around the cockpit with its Momo wheel and Greddy boost gauge. Tucked tightly underneath the dash is the HKS Electronic Valve Controler (EVC) along with the particularly rare factory knee pads. Unfortunately as most all S chassis fans are aware, this one has the typical cracking issue they all develop. Luckily there's a Shevron custom-fitted mat to at least help and clean up the interior. Naturally, you find all of the powered accessories of the time functioning like normal; the power windows, folding mirrors, door locks, and even the digital climate control.

Fitted with the only proper motor for an S chassis, the SR20DET. The aluminum two-liter has been outfitted with all of the basic bolt on's you would want, but nothing to make reliability an issue. With only 88K verified miles the SR feels strong right off of idle. The power delivery is smooth and the car certainly scoots. There's no wonder why the larger KA is routinely ditched in favor of this lightweight powerhouse. Paired with the factory 5 speed bring it all together. The transmission is smooth and more than adequate to handle the power it's making. An HKS intake helps feed the turbo, but it also makes all the right noises. In the noise department, a Fujitsubo catback exhaust lets the SR really sing. Since it's just a catback there's no highway drone or too overpowering for your neighbors. Now with a new set of HICAS arms, battery, and typical oil change, it's ready to find it's way around these vast American roads. With easy to find parts and wide aftermarket support, this Nissan would be an ideal daily driver or a new project to wrench on. Featuring a potent turbo motor, manual trans, and rear-wheel drive, its next chapter in life will surely be enjoyed by a lucky enthusiast.
