“Fioritura” (Blooming)
The ability to read reality and transform it through his own gaze, in an original way, offering different points of view is the key to the visual poetry of LUCAMALEONTE’s artworks. With a passion for botany and the tradition of bestiaries, LUCAMALEONTE captures the soul of the place that has the strongest bonds with the natural world and connects this to an urban, disruptive language like street art. By so doing, the artist’s piece reflects the spirit of the place – a union of the traditions linked to the local area and the modernity of more recent initiatives that have stimulated redevelopment and recovery in the region, which was severely impacted by earthquakes in 2016. This harmony is perfectly reflected in the choice of positioning the work in the archway over the entrance to the Town Hall, a building that represents the voice of the population, which has one foot planted in the past but the other pointed confidently towards the future.
Techniques: Mixed technique using paint and stencils Masks and paint to create highly elaborate multi-level stencils, featuring the overlapping of numerous layers of colour.
