A new meta-analysis has found that patients benefited more from therapeutic pain neuroscience education in a group setting than in one-on-one care. The results were a surprise to author Marnin Joseph Romm, MSc, BSc, BA, a PhD candidate at the University of Miami, and the pain science research coordinator and a research fellow at Harvard Medical School’s Spaulding Neuromodulation Center, in Boston. However, Romm already has some hypotheses for why a group may be better, and that’s the focus of his continuing research, he told Pain Medicine News.
