The Evening is unfolding under the signature of the infamous derivative of claviceps purpurea LSD. Synthesized by Albert Hofmann in 1938 it interacts with the chemist himself in 1943 and finds it’s fulminant coming into the world through his body and has ever since been a magic bullet in the world. Narratives will include trips of the chemical agent through pharmaceutical and neuroscientific laboratories, psychiatric institutions around the globe, the counterculture as well as their crossings. Just as well as stories of LSD trips of self authorized psychonauts, who are measuring enigmatic areas of a mental terra incognita, developing cartographies of the I or topographies of the unconscious. It will be talked about a chemotechnical transformation of the self into a healed, corrected, an enlightened, enhanced, fulfilled and optimized one; last not least it’s culturalsemantic transformation into a neurochemical self, that is organized substance-based and thus can also be modulated through substances.

Jeannie Moser is literary and cultural scholar and published a biography on LSD under the title Psychotropen. Between 2008 - 2018 she was teching and researching at the University at Vienna and TU Berlin. Currently she is working on a History of mistrust in literature and science.
