This is the result of R&D with city and district councils to identify how 3D Digital Twin (DT) technology can help with the resource consenting process.
The video shows how LINZ, GIS, BIM and other data is combined with regulations into a national Digital Twin that can be used for general urban planning and rapid evaluation of resource consents by both applicants and councils. It also shows a new tool to create 3D allowable building envelopes by combining height to boundary rules with LINZ 3D terrain and parcel data. Another important part of this research is to understand how DT's can create better understanding and participation in planning discussions for public, private, government, Iwi and other critical participants.
An intelligent DT of a city or nation is a never finished job but Bruce gets you started, combining existing data into a single useful DT today that can be almost infinitely scaled analysed and optimised as more GIS, BIM, IoT and other data and tools are connected.
