A great day with (then) Seahawk Richard Sherman doing a shoot for a T-Mobile / Beats partnership campaign. He largely improvised all the cool moves and was super gracious about trying things we suggested. The voiceover was mostly unscripted and culled from a lengthy one-on-one interview I did with him about the music he grew up on. Turned out we were both raised on vintage soul music (Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, Steven Wonder). When the interview ended, I reached out to shake his hand and he said, "No man. Bring it in." and proceeded to give me a giant bear hug. The footage that was shot that day was sliced and diced into TV spots, Instagram and Facebook spots, and posted on YouTube, etc. Though 90-some percent of the interview I did was never used, he gave me a heartfelt testimonial of growing up poor in Oakland and how he'd met Dr. Dre when he was a young kid and it changed his life, etc. Amazing experience and a really cool campaign.
