Sunday Night, later named Michelob Presents Night Music, was a late-night television show which aired for two seasons between 1988 and 1990 as a showcase for jazz and eclectic musical artists. It was hosted by Jools Holland and David Sanborn, and featured George Duke as musical director. Hal Willner was the music coordinator, responsible for the interesting musical mix-and-matching that took place on the show.

I got to play the show in its first season. I had been playing with Betty's rrio since June of 1988. We played two songs from her album Look What I Got, which won the Grammy for best jazz vocal performance in 1989.

The trio was myself. Tarus Mateen on bass and Troy Davis on drums. Branford Marsalis joined us on tenor sax. It was a real highlight of my time in New York.
