James Thierrée - MO'S Damn Jam Concerto

Waltzing to the telluric heartbeat of music and silently gathering stories, MO’ winds up his dream box to conduct a world of colliding sound.

Reaching well beyond the scope of a concert, MO’S world revolves like a crazed carousel… an orchestration of instruments, bodies, curio and verse, dancing with one another, a recital that has picked up momentum and is now spinning out of control.

Together with his band of samurai musicians and ghost dancers, James Thierrée has conjured up an evening of original music and lyrics wildly interwoven with moments of raw dance, humour and signature theatrics. A dismantled melo-harmonical concerto.

With melodic, exuberant waves of harmonic outbursts, MO' conjures his groovesque chronicles, mixing brass, strings, and baroque intermezzos with rock and electro sounds…

MO'S has erupted from the stillness of 2021, a durational process developed during the impatient hours of waiting for theatres to reopen.

MO’S arrive sans prévenir, gare à vous !

Aujourd’hui quoi faire ? Comment, pourquoi ? Toi moi nous. Aujourd’hui ? Besoin d’audace, de fougue, d’inattendu. Souffle. Mais qu’a-t-il donc ? Où va-t-il ? Qu’importe, MO’ est ici. En plein qui vive. Sorcier éphémère, alchimiste harangueur au passé cramé, MO’ n’a de compte à rendre à personne, il est dégagé, roi de nulle part…Il est maintenant. Son bagout de mythomane romanesque et lunatique, souvent homérique, cache une pulsion enfantine primaire. En vouloir toujours plus. MO’ a faim. MO’ est impatient. MO’ est much too much more.

Par vagues, bouffées mélodiques exubérantes, MO’ nous dévoile ses chroniques boréales aux accents d’orchestre métallisé. Naviguant au gré des teintes baroque, rock et électro fantomatiques. Autour de lui, un arc solaire : 6 samouraïs-musiciens le guettent en embuscade, générateurs-décupleurs-transformateurs de son soundtrack fantasmagorique. Un alambic lyrique, contagieux. Le bal est ouvert.

MO’ ne tient pas en place, MO’ s’élance, se jette en turbule… Mais son corps n’est pas qu’un, il est triptyque. Deux fantômes l’accompagnent, le combattent, le complètent. Deux sœurs nonchalantes et telluriques. Ensemble; ils dansent en rituels voluptueux, polarisés, chromatiques.

Un langage secret.

MO'S a émergé de l'immobilité de 2021, un long processus de création, développé pendant les heures d'attente interminables pour la réouverture des théâtres..
