Concert: Calälv-Loxbo

This duo formed in Stockholm in the beginning of 2017, drawing upon a common interest in integrating composition and improvisation, and making highly focused music characterised by close listening, careful sound production, and sensitive interplay.

Finn Loxbo has been an important voice on the Swedish experimental music scene for several years. His musical activity stretches from acoustic minimalistic solo improvisations to much larger electrified expressions, always with great responsiveness and sincerity. Finn’s collaborators include Mats Gustafsson’s Fire! Orchestra, Doglife, Strändernas Svall, Lisa Ullén, Karin Johansson, and Anders Vestergaard.

Erik Blennow Calälv has during recent years mostly worked with the quartet The Schematics (with Katt Hernandez, Daniel M Karlsson, and Ludvig Elblaus), which played in Berlin in 2013. In 2016, Erik wrote music for Knutte Wester’s film Horungen (A Bastard Child).
