This presentation I chose re-create abromovic and Ulay's "Slap" from 1977. With my recreation I chose to perform the same act of slapping one another. However, in this version I chose to create a sense of happiness and comedy when it comes to the slap. A slap is typically an act of discipline. It is also an act of disrespect and is not commonly looked at as something funny. I chose to create this comedy as a parody or mockery of what a slap represents. My audio replicates the reactions to each slap which is smiling and laughing. I wanted a conscious type of audio almost as if your conscience was speaking to you. I used a bit of room ambience to fill out my sound scape and give a more dramatic feel to my video. I chose to use a dark plastic back ground as well as dull lighting to give my video a suspenseful type of vibe. I believe I did well with accomplishing my goal of creating a parody of a typical slap as well as used the program better to my abilties with this problem. I believe the lighting and background ambience gave my video a more suspenseful and dark feel where the audio and actual performance brought a sense of comedy which in my opinion played well together. I tried to use my camera angles in the same way tog I've tension between each slap as well as the stair down seen which was used to give the same feeling one would do if you were slapped. (Whenever my mom use to slap me I would always just stare her down which was my motivation)
