In this episode, Ms. Abby introduces everyone to a new style in Swing Dance called West Coast Swing. By mapping step patterns onto a number line, Mr. Marshall is able to show students how to add fractions together. Of course, we know that fractions must have the same denominator when adding them together, but Ms. Abby throws us a curve by syncopating a dance rhythm, and Mr. Marshall is able to add in the idea of equivalent fractions on a number line to help add fraction parts with different denominators. It couldn’t be more fun!
