Nellie Minnelli is one of Australia's premiere performers, with a theatrical career spanning 30 years, incorporating cabaret, musical theatre, burlesque, vaudeville, music-hall and comic.
A production manager, costume designer, make-up designer, director, choreographer, producer and theatrical educator.
Raised on the great MGM musicals with a hefty dose of opera culture and British comedy, the theatre has consumed her every waking moment since the age of 5. She is a trailblazer, starting the first and only burlesque and vaudeville school in regional Victoria.
Miss Nellie is currently at the helm of vaudeville-burlesque troupe: ‘Empire of Sin’, who perform regularly around Victoria.
She has worked with some of Australia's leading directors, choreographers, vocal coaches and performers. She has performed in intimate venues and to audiences of thousands.
A muse to great artists, she has inspired visual art, poetry, song, storytelling and film.
After a lifetime dedicated to the theatre, she believes that performance is needed now more than ever.
