What do you get when you mix healthcare, a video game internship, and a livestream show with improv comedy? Hosted within the Texas Medical Center’s TMC Innovation Institute, the Healthcare Games Showdown™ involves college students creating video games for healthcare, followed by a review by potential employers — all featured in a livestream TV show from July 1st - 26th, 2019.
The story of the creation process will be broadcast in a livestream TV show on YouTube, Twitch, Mixer, and Facebook. Review the students talent, enjoy the stories of our mentors and sponsors, and involve yourself with live audience participation moments. At the end of the month, each student team will showcase their sponsored project in hopes they land a job.
Our team includes a mix of professors from various educational institutions (University of Houston, Texas A&M, Houston Community College, The Art Institute of Houston, University of Texas, Sam Houston State), professional game and technology mentors, and Emmy® and award-winning broadcast producers.
Our collective goal is to see digital media and technology students find work and bring value to various companies.
