Dear FSDB Parents/Legal Guardians,

On behalf of everyone at FSDB, let me just say how appreciative we are for your patience and understanding during this challenging time. Your child’s health and safety is our top priority and we are eager to engage with our students again. We miss them!

As we make this transition, please know we’re in this together. We are excited to share resources to support you and your family as you and your child transition from the extended spring break into distance learning.

Our specialists worked diligently to prepare educational and fun activities for you and your children to engage in next week. You may find these resources on our new Distance Learning site (fsdbk12.org/distance-learning). In addition, our Parent Services team is creating a collection of tips and resources to help you develop a plan that works in your home to support your child.

Starting the week of March 30, your child’s teachers, related service providers (e.g., counselors, speech language pathologists, etc.) and Parent Services liaison will be contacting you - they’ll be providing you details about your child’s individualized Distance Learning Plan and answer questions you may have. FSDB will be shipping student-assigned equipment and instructional materials to your home during this same week. In the interim, we encourage you to review our school’s Instructional Continuity Plan (fsdbk12.org/icp) as well as the FSDB website (fsdbk12.org) detailing specific information and resources related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Again, our teachers and specialists are excited to welcome their students to their new virtual environment and re-engage their instruction. We know it won’t all go seamlessly, but we’ll learn and grow together. Please stay safe and healthy and we look forward to connecting with you next week!

Tracie Snow
Administrator of Instructional Services
