Memento Mori brings together two theater monologues: I’m going to my chickens and Driftwood.
Els Dietvorst wrote the monologue Ik ga naar mijn kippen (I’m going to my chickens) in 2017 for Dirk Roofthooft. The text is a continuation of As Long as the Blackbird Sings and is about ACM and his struggle for a decent life. Two years later, Dietvorst’s brother was dying. This experience led her to write another monologue: Driftwood. It was written for Aurelie di Marino and premiered in 2019 at Kaaitheatre in Brussels.
