While teaching a class "VFX for Design" at Gnomon School of Visual Effects, I was lucky to have the opportunity of mentoring a small class of talented young artists. The task was to design an effect based on a few supplied components, and build a short sequence around it, all in from concept to final edit in 10 weeks. I ran the assignment along with my students in order to instruct by example, and this sequence is the final product. All work completed by myself, with the exception of the reactor platform model, which was supplied as one of the required components.
