This is a little jump animation I did last year. I generally work in stepped mode (blocking) until I have everything keyed on at least 3s. I usually even go down to 2s and 1s for the fast areas. I find that while this is time-consuming, it saves tons of time in the splining phase and completely removes the fear of hitting the spline button and having everything fall apart.
