Enhancing Kenyan Mothers’ Capacity to Support the Global Menstrual Movement
Currently, the menstrual movement is largely top-down and advanced through worldwide education and advocacy platforms. Huru seeks to complement this work through a grassroots approach that delivers menstrual advocacy training to 120 Kenyan mothers. We will work with local governments and CBOs to recruit a cadre of mothers who show leadership potential and are living in difficult settings. Technical training will then be conducted and will include action planning sessions in which participants design menstrual education and advocacy projects appropriate for their communities. Each trainee will be given 3 months to implement project activities. Project activities will be monitored using baseline and endline surveys and participant interviews.
