Why live one life when you could live many? So far, the novel that is my life contains various chapters, each better than the last. Our story begins with an opportunity. An opportunity to make a positive impact, to leave my mark, and to grow my self-confidence. An opportunity that took me overseas to Ghana, Africa, where I learned that collaboration isn’t just a thing that is used to produce something physical, but it can also help to spark ideas, and introduce change. Here I learned to work with friends and strangers alike to achieve our common purpose. But Ghana was just the beginning.

In our next chapter I make a decision. A decision that would help in defining who I am and who I will become. I made the decision to learn more by entering into the Retail management program at Ryerson University. I may be confident in what I currently know pertaining to the Retail Environment, but I will never be satisfied. I can always know more. My desire to flourish and to discover took me and my studies abroad, to Glasgow Scotland. The idea of taking my education abroad meant I would have to take what I already knew, and re-apply it to a brand new environment, forcing myself outside of my comfort zone. It really felt like it was me against the world, and I learned the world is just as competitive as I am.

And so we have made it to the present chapter of my life. Starting up a small business has always been something that intrigued me. I’ve loved my 5+ years working in the retail environment, but I always want more. So, when I was approached by a café to take photos for their business as well as design their social media presence, I couldn’t refuse and so sparked the birthed of my career as a social media designer and photographer. In this roll, I create the images my clients ask for, and collaborate with animators, illustrators, and graphic designers to develop the perfect package of content that resembles their brand best. Balancing a full-time school schedule with maintaining your own business is a challenge, but I have no plans on slowing down.

In fact, I plan on writing a new chapter. One where confidence is encouraged and nurtured, where creativity is stimulated and praised. Where working in teams, developing leaders, and achieving goals is the goal. And I have my eye set on one place in particular.
